πŸ“– #47 ~ Local Patch

⛅️23C Wednesday 1st August 2018 ~ A local patch-walk with John Raven and Geoff Hood from the Brandon Marsh regulars.

The primary reason for the visit ~ Spotted Flycatchers

A message from John Raven informed me that both he and Geoff Hood from the Brandon team were planning a trip across to my local patch on Wednesday in search of Spotted Flycatchers. I had nothing on so I met up with the guys promptly at 09:30hrs at Napton Church.

Family Party of Spotted Flycatchers

Local information is, of course, priceless and not long after a short walk around Napton Hill we were enjoying the company of a family party of these gorgeous little birds, a year-tick ✅ for both John and Geoff. While on the hill several Swifts passing through and the usual Ravens 'cronking' overhead.

Great Crested Grebes at Napton Reservoir
From here a brief trip to Napton Reservoir produced a few families of Great Crested Grebe.
