πŸ“– Warwickshire Revisited πŸ‚ ~ 02/11 ~ 04/11/21

Have thoroughly enjoyed an excellent few days back on the old stomping ground in Warwickshire catching up with a few old faces and revisiting some of my well-trodden haunts.

Hoopoe on the IBM Warwick lawns

On Tuesday morning I spent an enjoyable few hours at Brandon Marsh with @BrandsbayBob  after which I even managed to catch a glimpse of the local 'star attraction' Hoopoe at IBM Warwick before it finally went AWOL.

Brambling at Napton-on-the-Hill

A top morning at Napton-on-the-Hill on Wednesday with @pcashmore53 & @daco1600 hedge bashing and vismigging. Although the guys said things had been extremely quiet thus far this autumn amongst the Chaffinch's we managed to pluck out a trio of Brambling. Also of note at least a dozen Goldcrest more Redwing than of late and a few Siskin, so things are on the move!

Good numbers of Snipe at Brandon Marsh

One of two Pintail on East Marsh Pool ~ An occasional visitor here.

Fieldfare ~ Lots of Thrushes on the move today at Brandon.

I spent the best part of today at Brandon Marsh chatting with my old birding buddies and volunteers, which brought back many memories of some great times during my 12 years here. Even managed a few year ticks too which included three distant fly-by Egyptian Goose and a Marsh Tit in Horsetail Glade, two species I'm unlikely to see any time soon back in Aberdeenshire.

Wonderful to see everyone once more and for me some winter heat and autumn birding in Spain beckons!
