Dropping my better half off @ Birmingham Airport this lunchtime gave me a perfect opportunity to drop into Brandon Marsh for a couple of hours birding on the way home.Of note were 4 Shellduck, 2 Oystercatcher and 4 Goldeneye (2M + 2F) on the East Marsh Pool. Both Goldeneye pairs were displaying in front of the main hide.
Had a great view of the Bittern as it flew back across to Newlands from the reeds in front of the main hide at 15.15, much to the delight of several other visitors.
